CNN REPORT:

As we head into the weekend, a calm and cool weather forecast for Metro Detroit is on the horizon. According to the 4Warn Weather team, Friday evening will see skies ranging from partly cloudy to mostly clear, with temperatures dropping into the mid 30s to 40 degrees overnight. Westerly winds will blow at 10 to 15 mph, with a few gusts reaching up to 25 mph.

Moving into Saturday, the day will be noticeably cooler and breezy, with temperatures struggling to peak around 50 degrees under a mix of sun and clouds. While there is a chance of a few sprinkles, most areas are expected to remain dry. However, some stray showers may pop up over the Thumb region. Westerly winds will be blowing at 8 to 16 mph during the day, with gusts near 30 mph. At night, the chilly air will bring lows into the lower to mid-30s.

Sunday will bring continued influence from a high-pressure system, resulting in abundant sunshine and breezy conditions. With westerly winds of 5 to 15 mph and gusts around 20 mph, temperatures will reach the mid-60s. Clear skies at night will drop temperatures to the lower to mid-30s.

There is a chance of patchy frost on Saturday and Sunday nights, particularly in traditionally cooler areas like the Thumb. This may necessitate covering tender or sensitive plants to protect them from the cold.

Looking ahead to the workweek, Monday will see mostly sunny skies with highs near 60 degrees and lows in the mid-40s. Tuesday will bring wet and breezy weather as a low-pressure system moves in, with highs sticking around 60 degrees and lows dropping to the upper 30s. Wednesday will clear out the rain, with partly cloudy skies and highs in the upper 40s to lower 50s and lows in the lower to mid-30s.

The big event for the upcoming weekend is the NFL Draft, set to kick off in Downtown Detroit on Thursday. The forecast for the event anticipates high temperatures in the lower to mid-50s on Thursday, with milder weather expected for next Friday through Sunday. The 30-year average high for this weekend in Metro Detroit is 61 degrees, while the average low is 41 degrees.
