I fell in love with Avenged Sevenfold when i first heard them on Racing video games like burnout revenge, and need for speed. Like 2006ish. They are my favorite band of all time. Still remember the days of racing and jamming as a kid

They managed to pull off something unique and while it has major influence from multiple bands it still managed to have its own soul and sound. We see a lot of bands come out and gain no traction at all most times because they have changed their sound so much their original fans . In most cases it fails but not here because they left screaming and went mainstream more or less.

Almost Easy on Rock Band was one of the songs that got me into music other than the shit my parents listened to. I don’t like their recent album but I’m glad they did it

i still think city of evil is their best album. i never get bored listening to each tracks. kinda sad to see how they put everything on the line and it was almost a flop.

One of my fav bands, so amazing live too. They were so refreshing when they appeared for me tbh! And the fact they made an 8 minute song about necrophilia just makes a point 😂😂 city of evil was a masterpiece imo then the self titled album, I remember the outrage but I loved it 🤣🤣 dude that’ll be why they had disturbed open for them as part of the tour that hit the uk, them disturbed and in flames was fkn awesome, what a night!!!
RIP to The Rev as always, one of the greatest drummers going.

City of Evil was my gateway drug. Bat country was on my madden psp game when I was a kid. I looked up the rest of the album, and now I go to knocked loose shows and fight invisible ninjas in my late 20s. I got to see A7X at a really small venue in Houston after a festival they headlined got rained out. They played for like 400 people for completely free. It was life changing.

    My thoughts on A7X.
    1.Good musicians
    2. cool dudes
3.they put on a good live show
4.their music isn`t my cup of tea, i find their artist names to be cringy and my biggest issues with the band is the lyricism, as someone who places huge value on lyricism.
5.I respect them though i think the more mainstream metal bands like Disturbed, A7X, FFDP, Sleep Token etc are necessary for bringing new fans into metal, most new metal fans don`t tend to start with bands like Meshuggah, Nile, Necrophagist, Dimmu Borgir, Behemoth etc.

One of the main things that may make (certain quarter of) people to not like Avenged Sevenfold so much is they sounded too "poppish" at times. They are still a metal band in my book, so they would appeal more to the mainstream music listeners, while not that much to the hardcore metalheads (maybe) for that very reason.

Take Queen for example. In the beginning of their career, they were quite hard rocking, with significant elements of punk & metal in their music (Queen II album). But by the 80s they had transformed to a more mainstream & pop rock or pop-based 4-piece band. People never look at Queen the same as the early 70s Queen anymore. But the different between Queen and Avenged Sevenfold is, they have a lot of No. 1 hits and Top Charter, while AX7 is currently in the era where Rock & Metal music is in decline or not widely listened to in the West as before.

No disrespect to AX7, they are very good musicians. But I have to say that they will not be in my all time Greatest & Most Influential Metal bands list. Not even in my Top 30.

Life Is But A Dream is my favorite metal album to come out in years. A7X really don't get the respect they deserve. Any other band in their shoes would be making safe and boring Imagine Dragons radio rock trying desperately to maintain any level of relevancy, but A7X takes risks! They always have! All of their albums sound unique from one another, and that's something I will always respect.

If a band doesn't change their sound, people hate it, but if they do change their sound, people also hate it. There's no winning with music nerds.

Fans are fans for a reason, and when they are pit together in the masses like , ohh, I think they call them shows or concerts , the sheer volume of people, the IDGAF attitude of each individual, having been brought together thru tremendous tragedy and many other types of events, growth and maturity on both ends. AH, MTV studios. I remember being up in there when music was popular out and not babies from 16 year old. Trl for life. I can't and NEVER WILL hate my own heart. Kanye can just go home tho, there is JUST NO EXCUSE FOR THE MUSIC VIDEO "MATTEL". I had burned a Furby a long time ago, that shit is scary good. 😂And we all know he was an influence on this newest album. Finn, it is because of your interview with Mathew before hw and the guys set out on tour that I have now got a new found love for FALLING IN REVERSE and even more respect for my boys standing by their side and keeping negative judgement far away. AVENGED SEVENFOLD FOR LIFE… foREVer…
    Jimmy says hi, guys…
My ending comment for this video is, honey badger DGAF, I LOVE YOU GUYS AND I ALWAYS WILL, NOW IM GOING TO LISTEN TO SOME CHAPTER FOUR AND I WONT SEE YOU TONIGHT PT 1… SOME OF MY PERSONAL EALRY FAVES…❤❤❤
does anybody believe in palm reading here?

I really liked the first two A7X albums, but around the 3rd they kinda were the bro metal/douche metal band. It didn't help that M Shadows had a weird right wing rant on the 4th album to remind you they were rich kids from the OC. I guess it was mostly the fan base that started to turn me off.

Dude I loved A7X. I grew up on them.
City of Evil, Self-Titled, and Nightmare are all albums I still play regularly.
It wasn't until the Rev died that I started to dislike them.
It's not even that I really dislike them, it's just… they lost the magic. When they lost the Rev they lost more than just a drummer. Their albums released after his death, besides Nightmare, occasionally had a decent song but the days of the entire album being on repeat seemed to be over.

I found them when I was into the screaming stuff, just like I did with Bring Me the Horizon. And much like BMTH when A7X stopped screaming I stopped listening. I don’t like butt rock.
