My only complaint is why is this box set single sleeves are bigger than the singles in last Rolling Stones Singles box set ? Abkco did a shitty job on this one you can not use the same outer sleeves that you used on the last singles box set you also need inner Record sleeves so the loose 45's does not do any damage the the 45 jackets with them moving around loose .
such a shame .The Klein co. rinsing the stones back catalogue once again Does everyone realise that Mick and Keith have no input or creative control over these releases and if it hadn't been for Paul Maccas perseverance the same would have applied to the Beatles catalogue . Nice looking box but it sours it for me .
A nice collectable box set, more for the completist Stones fan but, not for me. I literally never play 7" Singles. The only physical media I listen to are LP's & CD's.
It's a shame that the songwriting credits say (Jagger/Richards) rather than (Jagger/Richard). Also, I don't know why they are claiming the credit for I Don't Know Why – it's a Stevie Wonder song. At least they are also giving Taylor some of the stolen credit.
For the love of god WHY? This is the pinnacle of collection obsession. I get the nostalgia but singles?! The only reason I ever bought singles was because I couldnāt afford the album and I donāt look back fondly on being poor. Money would have to be meaningless to me to buy something like this and there would be no point in playing them.
I'm really torn over this set of singles. The ones from Paint It Black through Honky Tonk Women are great, but the collection falls off after those ones. As James Wilson 7084 has already commented, they've put Brown Sugar and Wild Horses on one single when they should be two: Brown Sugar with Bitch and Let It Rock (live); and Wild Horses with Sway. Memo from Turner is an okay idea, but none of the singles after it are worthy in my opinion. But those releases from 1966 to 1969 are so damn good….
It isnāt for me because I donāt do vinyl but itās still really nice. But how many different ways do we need the Stonesā catalogue? Iām noticing a lot of overkill on box sets these past few years. I suppose if I had the space and the wealth I would spring for them. Theyāre all really nice and stuff butā¦. š¤
I have the first '63 – '66 Singles volume. And I would've got this second one, if they stopped at the "Honky Tonk Women" single. A 12 single '66 – '69 set would have been much better to me. The rest feels like fluff. "Memo From Turner" isn't really a Rolling Stones single. And putting "Brown Sugar" and "Wild Horses" on the same single really marres this set for me. And the "Metamorphosis" singles aren't "real" Rolling Stones singles to me either. And I could easily do without the later singles, especially the remixes one. Sometimes more isn't always better. A smaller singles set would have been better. I'm okay with including that 4 song E.P.
Hi Barry. Really good video and looks a quality item. However, I was mighty surprised at the purchase price even though it covers a classic period of Stones material. As ever, beautifully presented in that wily old style of yours that is so engaging. All the best. Daveā ā
yeah it's funny .. I already have all the stuff I want from all these classic bands, so why am I going to keep buying reissue after reissue .. it's utterly ridiculous. The "remasters" don't usually "fix" anything for me.. These are just cash grab after cash grab. I listen to music, not gawk at pictures or memorabilia or whatever. I barely have enough space for all the music. The only time I even buy one if I have a bad copy and I need a new one, and even then I have to be careful what I buy because a lot of "remasters" actually suck. They're too loud and they sound isn't that bad when the volume is down, but you can't enjoy them louder like you can with some of the original recordings.
